Microchip Technology has announced its design contest that allows engineers worldwide to test drive the new dsPIC 16-bit digital signal controllers (DSCs) and win one of 19 total prizes, including a Harley-Davidson motorcycle or US$15 000 cash for first place.
Using the dsPIC30F Design Contest Kit, engineers can show off their design skills using the dsPIC DSC and its high-performance development tools. By participating in the contest and purchasing the dsPIC30F Design Contest Kit, engineers receive a full-featured tool suite (including the board and software). They can add powerful, new features to their designs, reduce component count and lower system cost on their next high-performance designs.
The dsPIC30F Design Contest Kit (DM300015) contains a dsPICDEM 1.1 General Purpose Development Board and all of the tools necessary to participate in the contest. Microchip says that the general-purpose board, which regularly sells for US$299, is being offered with the kit for a special price of US$139. The kit includes tools for digital filter design, DSP libraries and all of the software development tools including a full-featured, time-limited C compiler.
