Qualitel Transmission has launched its new QT208 Digital Wireless PABX system, which it says allows easy installation and mobility and is targeted at the Soho market.

The QT208 Dect PABX connects multiple extensions without wiring within the premise, which introduces a new era of mobile communications for the office and home environment, says the company. Unlike the analog cordless phone, DECT (digital enhanced cordless technology) is a digital wireless telephone technology that allows radio access to public and private telephone networks.

This PABX would be especially useful and save costs in a company with a number of mobile employees such as those in a large warehouse, factory or office. A homeowner could also install a single cell standalone base station within the home and use it with a number of cordless digital phones throughout the home and garden.

The QT208 PABX provides for two incoming lines and up to eight handsets can be registered to one base station. It can also be used behind an existing PABX to expand the capacity.

The PABX offers the following features: digital clarity; built-in caller identification; phone book call conferencing; call transfer; call barring; call timer; auto pickup; baby call; distinctive ringing; redial/flash/hold; ring melody selection; adjustable ringer volume and receiver volume; programmable flashtime; voice and data capability; keylock; and music on hold.

The QT208 Dect PABX is Telkom-approved and ICASA licensed.
