Open wound semi-adjustable wirewound power resistors

Arcol's power resistors have a high element weight for value and come in seven wattage sizes from 200-750 W.

Offering good stability at high operating temperatures, they also feature high short term overload capacity.

Standard tolerance is K (±10%) but also available in J (±5%). For closer tolerances contact Arcol. Typical values for temperature coefficients is less than 100 ppm/°C. Power dissipation at 25°C is 200 to 750 W.

These power resistors have a core made of electrical porcelain while the element is oxidised copper nickel alloy (iron-free). Terminals are made of nickel silver.

Type L is adjustable for when occasional adjustment might be required. This type of band is most suitable since it is vibration-proof and only requires access to one side of the band to make an adjustment. The band is loosened by slackening the locknut with a box spanner.

Type S is fixed. This band is most suitable for units that will have the adjustable band pre-set once and will not require further adjustment. To make an adjustment, it is necessary to have access to both sides of the band. The band is loosened by slackening the screw whilst the locknut ensures that this screw will not work loose by vibration once the band has been set to the desired value.
