Vishay has released a complete family of power SMD LEDs that it says delivers exceptional brightness thanks to a specially designed leadframe profile that greatly improves device heat dissipation.
Offered in a PLCC-3 package with a low 270 K/W thermal resistance rating, devices in the TLMx320x series can be driven with higher currents to enable twice the brightness of comparable LEDs in the PLCC-2 package.
A suite of six colour options includes super red, red, orange, yellow, pure green, and yellow green, with typical luminous intensity ranging from 50 mcd to 1250 mcd when the LEDs are driven with a forward current of 50 mA.
Designed with a non-diffused lens that simplifies backlighting displays and coupling to light pipes, the TLMx320x LEDs can be used in a wide variety of lighting and display applications. They have a low luminous intensity ratio per packing unit of 1,6 or lower to ensure a homogeneous light characteristic. Built using AllnGaP technology, all devices in the family feature a 60° angle of half intensity.
