Balluff has further miniaturised its product line with its mini-opto family in the company's inductive housing. The BOS 8M and BOS Q08M line includes retro-reflective, through-beam and diffuse models as well as a fixed focus version in an 8 mm square or tubular M8 housing.
The retro-reflective models cover up to 600 mm, or 60 mm for the diffuse types. For long-range applications, the through-beam sensors handle a range of up to 1000 mm. In addition, this family includes a diffuse model with fixed focus and 20 mm of range - ideal for small parts detection.
With these small optosensors new possibilities are opened up in highly dynamic applications such as robot gripper arms. Here components with minimum weight, small footprint but a high switching precision are demanded.
Laser slot sensors are the logical extension of the proven concept of slot-type sensors. Emitter, receiver and all the circuitry are enclosed in a single housing, allowing fast and easy alignment and calibration. The rugged metal housing ensures high impact and noise resistance, and with only a single cable connection the wiring effort is low.
