National Instruments South Africa hosted an Electronics Test Seminar in Durban and Midrand last month. Attracting some serious movers and shakers in the engineering and test management communities, the company said it was elated by the attendance numbers, which met and exceeded its attendance goal at both venues by 210% collectively.
The primary focus of the seminar was to educate engineers and test managers about how to automate typical electronics tests using leading NI products - TestStand, LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI and DIAdem.
A host of industry solutions were presented, including presentations and demonstrations on how to integrate mixed signal testing with NI's Compact Vision System in TestStand; how to program a PDA running PocketPC or PalmOS to be used as part of a measurement system using LabVIEW PDA; how to save test results, generate reports and share results throughout the organisation with DIAdem.
"We are extremely pleased with the success of this event, it not only highlights the strong user base of virtual instrumentation in South Africa, but also shows that the local engineering and test management industries are tracking this worldwide trend of moving to computer-based instrumentation," said Michael Hutton, branch manager of National Instruments.
National Instruments will be hosting more technical seminars during 2004. For more information contact (toll-free) 0800 203 199, [email protected], or see www.ni.com/southafrica.
