A versatile miniature electronic magnetic switch suitable for a variety of applications is being offered by South African distributor, Anglo Allied Engineering. This magnetic switch can be used in a wide range of applications, due to its unique combination of advantages.
Despite its extremely small size, achieved by using hybrid technologies, the Bernstein MEK-810P2 Miniature Electronic Magnetic Switch has a large sensing distance of between 8 mm and 30 mm, depending on the magnet used. The orientation of the magnet is not important as the MEK-810P2 responds to both the North and South poles in the same sensitive way.
In addition to the very small size and the operating distance, the MEK-810P2 is insensitive to dirt, which means it can be used in operating areas where hygiene and cleanliness are not a priority. Conversely, the switch and associated magnet can be completely protected behind non-magnetic covers allowing conformance to strict hygiene regulations.
The MEK-810P2 is suited where space is limited and the application requires a large operating distance. The low hysteresis and good sensing distance repeatability ensure a high degree of accuracy for precise position detection. It also has a high switching current and a small bright output LED. The slim design was specially developed to allow the miniature sensor to be 'slot' mounted from above if necessary. Special fittings make it possible to clamp the sensor anywhere along the entire length of the slot, making it flexible to mount.
