Infineon's new VDSL5100i chip, presented at the Supercomm trade fair, has more than four million transistors and other electronic components on only 1,4 square centimetres. The VDSL 'Modem-on-chip' solution uses conventional copper lines to deliver broadband services at a rate of up to 100 Mbps.
