The BOS 18MR proximity sensor from Balluf features an integrated angle mirror made of scratch-resistant glass that is permanently attached to the housing. All models are built into an M18 metal housing (nickel plated brass), are fully polyurethane-potted and use a visible red light. Since the optical head has no lateral overhang, installation from the front is simple.
These sensors are equipped with several LEDs. When the output is switched, the yellow LED on the sensor body lights up as well as a 360° visible LED on the connector body. The green LED indicates sufficient function reserve, making calibration and alignment easier. This also allows contamination to be detected and eliminated in time.
The following models are available: retro-reflective with polarising filter, range up to 2 m; through-beam with test input and PNP/NPN output, up to 16 m range; energetic diffuse with up to 400 mm range; diffuse with background suppression and up to 120 mm range.
