Computer laboratory donated to University

A high-technology computer laboratory has been donated by the Bill Venter Foundation to the School of Information Technology at the University of Pretoria. The laboratory will be used for teaching and research by postgraduate students in the School of Information Technology.

The University recognises the cardinal role of Information Technology and has taken a strong stand to ensure that it is well placed to face the challenges and take a leading role in delivering well-trained graduates in the field. The School consists of three departments: Computer Science, Informatics, and Information Science.

The University of Pretoria says it looks forward to cooperating with the Altron group in strengthening not only the ties between the parties but also in building a world class capacity in information technology.
