Indoor coverage expert boosts Webb Industries

26 May 2010 News

Indoor coverage expert Jacqui Botha has joined Webb Industries from Comba Telecom Systems. Webb managing director Paul Richards says that providing signal to areas where radio shadow occurs has become one of Webb’s important offerings and that Comba products are an essential part of the solution. “Comba’s repeaters are proving a great success and Jacqui’s expertise will help us significantly as we take this part of our business forward,” says Richards.

Botha says that working closely with Webb while at Comba has helped to get her off to a flying start. “I knew the Webb culture, I have an intimate understanding of the product and the market and so getting up and running has been no problem.” She adds that with Webb’s infrastructure and support and the vast range of products available from Comba, which cover the entire GSM/UMTS spectrum, she will be able to substantially grow the customer base. “This also means that we are ready for the fourth technology generation, LTE (long term evolution) which is a 4G wireless broadband technology and promises to increase capacity and speed of mobile telephony,” says Botha.

Indoor coverage divisional head Alan Chater is buoyant about prospects for the division. Webb is a serious player in the provision of ‘in-building’ coverage and cell enhancer solutions. “Securing the Comba agency has given us access to unique products and solutions for Africa’s GSM network operators and Jacqui’s expertise is a boost to the mix,” he concluded.
