Saab Grintek to distribute Eltek Energy supplies
30 November 2005
News
Eltek Energy has introduced its fourth-generation DC power rectifier with its Flatpack 2 product range, now available in Africa through a distribution agreement with Saab Grintek. These DC power rectifiers are designed for use in telecommunication networks. Their high power density allows for ultra-compact layouts. The lower component count, combined with enhanced topology using the latest switching devices, results in superior reliability, according to the companies.
Says Makhup Nyama, Saab Grintek CEO, "Saab Grintek has partnered with Eltek after a thorough evaluation of the best products on the market and their suitability for the African environment. In this task Saab Grintek could combine their long track record of working with most local telecom network operators and their extensive experience of supporting a large installed equipment base in diverse operating conditions."
Haakon G. Froland, Eltek energy sales director, explained the benefits for Eltek, "Through this agreement Eltek can channel their world-leading products to a geographical area previously unexplored by Eltek. Saab Grintek adds the local experience and a proven distribution footprint for a running start to an exciting new area with very active telecommunication growth."
Both parties agreed that their decision to co-operate was made easy through their focus on similar markets, compatible reputations for technical excellence, supporting manufacturing capabilities and complementary geographical representation.
