The Computer Products Group (CPG) of Arrow Altech Distribution has evolved from a supplier of CPU, motherboard and certain networking products (with Intel as its flagship principal of 28 years) to a division now carrying 30 additional computer product lines from 17 leading manufacturers. Well-known names such as Intel, Matrox, AMD, IBM, Seagate, LG, MediaForte, HP, ADI, EIZO and others make up an impressive line card. This broad line transition took place in a short space of time and forms part of AAD's strategic goal to be an active and leading player in the IT industry. This full-house 'stack' of products complements Altech's strategy of exploiting the convergence between telecoms, multimedia and IT. AAD CPG leverages from Arrow's international supplier relationships and has access to the company's Microtronica inventory in the UK and Europe when required. CPG also boasts qualified technical staff who are able to assist in complex network designs and solutions and can provide pre and post sales support on a broad range of products and systems.

Internet shopping ( www.arrow.altech.co.za) allows registered customers to order computer products, systems and various peripheral components on a 7 x 24 h basis. AAD CPG is well placed to become the industry's leading 'building blocks' supplier, thus ensuring that its customers remain in the forefront of IT requirements and e-business - the ongoing global wave which is re-inventing business.

In line with the quality objectives of AAD's shareholders, Arrow and Altech, AAD achieved a re-certification of its ISO 9000 listing in October 2000.
