Energy recovery electronic loads

11 October 2017 Power Electronics / Power Management

The new energy recovery electronic loads in EA Elektro-Automatik’s ELR 9000 HP range can accept power of up to 15 kW and 95% of the consumed energy is fed back into the local power supply. A further advantage of the high-performance loads is the input voltage range of 0 – 1500 V as well as the wide range of input voltages: as standard the loads can be operated with 380 V, 400 V, 440 V and 480 V supplies.

EA Elektro-Automatik built this series on a proven modular concept. Along with various voltage, current and power classes the equipment features power consumption of up to 15 kW. Compared to the previous ELR 9000 model with 10,5 kW, this is an increase in the power spectrum of 43%.

The individual units of the high-power version are available in 19“ 3HE housings with voltages of 80 V to 1500 V, current of 20 A to 510 A and power of 5 kW, 1 kW and 15 kW. If more power is required a total system of up to 240 kW can be built by using the integral master-slave interface and Share-BUS. These can then be controlled and selected via a master unit.
