M/A-COM Technology Solutions released a two-stage differential amplifier for DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 reverse path infrastructure equipment. The MAAM-011186 is designed for designs requiring a highly linear variable gain amplifier (VGA) solution for network access equipment and head-ends in the hybrid fibre coax system. It offers 39 dB of gain and 3 dB of noise figure with 31,5 dB attenuation range, all delivered in a single 7 mm RoHS compliant PQFN package. Featuring an embedded digital step attenuator, it delivers 36 dB MER performance loaded with 39 channels at 52 dBmV per channel. Nominal power dissipation is a low 2,2 W, making the chip suitable for high-density cards and compact system amplifiers.
