Fairchild Semiconductor’s FOD8332 is a 2,5 A output current IGBT/MOSFET drive optocoupler for designers of industrial applications such as motor control inverters and high-performance power systems. An insulation working voltage rating of 1,414 V permits the device to directly drive 1200 V IGBTs. It integrates critical protection features necessary for preventing fault conditions that lead to destructive thermal runaway of IGBTs. The FOD8332 utilises proprietary Optoplanar coplanar packaging technology and optimised IC design to achieve high insulation voltage and high noise immunity, characterised by high common mode rejection. The chip is housed in a wide body 16-pin small outline plastic package.
