Measurement Specialties has unveiled a new family of digital temperature sensors for applications in automotive, medical, consumer and general-purpose markets.
The TSYS02S is a single-chip sensor providing factory calibrated data corresponding to the measured temperature. The data is provided via SDM output in the form of a pulse sequence that may be converted into an analog voltage by a discrete low-pass filter. The TSYS02D and TSYS02P share an identical feature set with the TSYS02S, except that they replace the SDM output with an I²C interface and PWM output, respectively.
The devices cover a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C with a resolution of <0,1°C. They provide their optimum accuracy of ±0,2°C over the -5°C to +50°C range as standard, but this high-accuracy temperature range can be adjusted on request.
The sensors consume less than 420 A in operation and less than 0,14 A in standby. They are supplied in a TDFN8 package.
