30 W LED drivers with PFC

31 October 2012 Opto-Electronics

The RACV30 is the first in Recom’s new series of constant-voltage LED drivers ideal for powering LED strips and LED modules in applications such as cove lighting, signage, backlighting, channel letters, displays or under-cabinet lighting.

The input voltage range of 90 to 264 V a.c. assures full functionality worldwide. The drivers provide up to 30 Watts and are available with outputs of 12 V or 24 V d.c. The output voltages are closely regulated to compensate for varying loads or supply changes (2% maximum).

RACV30 drivers have active PFC and fully comply with EN61000-3-2 Class C. With their integrated constant-current source, they are able to supply several LED chains in parallel. An additional application is the combination with a DC constant-current driver, such as Recom´s RCD24.

These new constant-voltage modules measure only 160 x 55 x 22 mm and feature a terminal block and 5,5 mm jack fittings on the input and output for easy and reliable mounting. Their compact design also makes them relevant for applications/installations where space is at a premium. The drivers integrate overload and thermal protection and come with a 5-year warranty.
