LCD modules with per-pixel memory

25 August 2021 Opto-Electronics

Multi-Inno’s range of ‘memory’ LCD modules feature a 1-bit embedded memory in each pixel, which results in minimal power usage from the display’s single supply, even while updating images. A lightweight and thin two-glass design, plus an integrated driver and simple I/F connectivity, ease the design process.

There is no need for data transmission from outside the module when the displayed image is not required to change.

The range includes 2,7-inch and 4,4-inch monochrome LCDs with a claimed power consumption of approximately 1/50 that of a standard LCD display, enabling the application to display data continuously without a concern for battery life.

The memory LCDs from Multi-Inno have no need for an external driver IC to connect to the LCD module and offer improved visibility in dark/light environments, improved response time and always-on capabilities.
