Hitachi has expanded its Tiny Series of single-chip microcontrollers with the H8/3694 series which comprises six new devices that offer higher speed and smaller packages than current models. The H8/3694 devices are based on Hitachi's H8/300H CPU core with 5 V supply. They boast a maximum operating frequency of 20 MHz, 4 MHz higher than current models. They also offer a low pin-count up to a maximum of 64 and feature a comprehensive range of on-chip peripheral functions, including a subclock, sophisticated timers, 10-bit ADC, asynch/synch serial interfaces, I2C bus interface and large-current pins. The H8/3694F F-ZTAT series incorporate flash memory that can be programmed and erased with a single power supply. The H8/3694 series comes in 64-pin LQFP and a QFP (14 x 14 mm), pin compatible with Hitachi's H8/3664 series.
