Single-output power supplies

1 September 2010 Power Electronics / Power Management

Complementing its SWS range of power supplies, TDK-Lambda has developed the SWS300A series of single-output units.

Low-cost and low-profile, yet boasting advanced features such as active power factor correction and high-input transient protection, these 300 W general-purpose power supplies operate from a universal input of 85 to 265 V a.c. or 120 to 370 V d.c. to meet a wide range of applications, including factory automation, test and measurement and display signs.

Offered with a choice of output voltages from 3,3 V to 48 V, each model in the SWS300A series can be adjusted by up to ±20% of its nominal voltage to accommodate non-standard system voltages. Furthermore, all power supply models incorporate an internal cooling fan for reliable power output over a wide temperature range of -10°C to +65°C. Over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protections are standard features.

With input transient protection that meets IEC61000-4, the units exhibit 3 kV a.c. input to output isolation with Class B conducted and radiated EMI performance. The SWS300A series is approved to a wide range of safety standards, including ICE/UL/CSA/EN60950-1 and EN50178, and all models carry the CE mark, according to the LV directive. All models carry a two-year warranty.
