DSP, Micros & Memory
STMicroelectronics has released a new 1 Mbit serial EEPROM with SPI bus (serial peripheral interface) in the tiny SO8N package with 3,8 mm body width - claimed to be the first SPI serial EEPROM in the market to squeeze this high memory density into such a small package. The M95M01 is organised as 128 Kbits x 8, and supports Byte and Page Write modes with a fast write time of 256 Bytes in less than 5 ms (less than 13 μs/byte typical). The chip is specified to retain data for more than 40 years, and offers write endurance of more than 1 million cycles. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, and the memory operates over a wide 1,8 V to 5,5 V supply-voltage range. The device is also offered in the wider SO8W and is intended for the storage of fast-changing parameter data in consumer electronics products such as digital TVs (DTV) DVD players and gaming, as well as in medical equipment, industrial, car infotainment and computer peripherals.
