First for HiPots tester sold into South Africa

19 November 2003 News

Warm-Up, a Gauteng-based under-floor electric heating manufacturer, recently purchased the first QuadTech Sentry 20 Plus HiPots Tester in Africa. The motivation for the purchase was the requirement of US authorities for test certification for all such units shipped to the USA.

Managing director, Peter Morley said, "I researched the market quite carefully before purchasing the unit and the QuadTech Sentry 20 Plus represented a really good balance between functionality and price. The fact that the instrument is instantly recognised by the US authorities as performing tests as required by the underwriters laboratories (UL), clinched the deal for me."

The Sentry 20 Plus provides a complete dielectric testing solution for AC/DC HiPot testing with load and line regulation to ensure measurement integrity. It also measures and displays the output voltage directly at the output, with both visual and audible failure indications.

Hilton Preston, product specialist at Spescom MeasureGraph added, "The sale was a good one because the product met the customer's specific need for safety measurement for the product that he manufactures. It is very exciting for us too, as it represents the first such sale for Spescom MeasureGraph in South Africa."

QuadTech, an ISO 9001-certified manufacturer, represented in South Africa by Spescom MeasureGraph, offers a complete line of instrumentation, LCR meters for testing passive components, HiPot testers and ground bond testers, safety analysers, megohmmeters and milliohmmeters.
