Aztec Electronics has been supplying South African companies with speciality batteries for 26 years and introduced the US-manufactured NorthStar range of batteries to the market over two years ago. Since then, it says, over several thousand units have been shipped to satisfied customers.

The outstanding performance of these sealed lead-acid batteries, coupled with their relatively low cost, has ensured complete customer satisfaction, claims Aztec. The batteries comprise of virtually pure lead, as opposed to the cheaper and less efficient lead-calcium, which is commonly used in other lead-acid batteries. They are designed to offer 10 to 15 years of trouble-free service in float applications and offer a two-year shelf life.

NorthStar batteries are approved and certified by all major approval and certification bodies including: Telecordia, British Standard, Bellcore, Telkom, DOT, Eurobatt and UL.
