Aztec Electronics has developed the battery backup system for use with Motorola's micro-cell hardware on GSM networks. The purpose of the unit is to provide sufficient DC backup power in order to maintain network availability.
Aztec's Microcell Battery Backup unit contains two sealed lead-acid NorthStar NSB90FT batteries and is capable of supplying backup power to a single micro-cell transceiver for approximately 14 hours, or to two micro-cell transceivers for approximately 7 hours. The unit also contains an integrated switched-mode charger with LED indication and a 22 V low power drain voltage regulator as well as current and voltage meters.
The Microcell Battery Backup unit is wall mountable, lockable and protected against direct sunlight by its reflective outer heat shields.
