Thin film chip fuses

3 February 2010

Bourns recently announced its new SinglFuse SF series of thin film chip fuses. This new line provides highly reliable over-current protection in three surface mountable footprint sizes. Each product size features two series to cover the fusing types of fast-acting and slow-blow. The new series expands Bourns’ circuit protection portfolio for applications such as LCD monitors, digital cameras, cell phones, industrial controllers and rechargeable battery packs.
SinglFuse products protect against a wide range of over-current events and feature current ratings from as low as 500 mA up to 7 A. The thin film design ensures high precision for specific fusing characteristics. Single-use thin film chip fuses are specifically designed for applications that require one-time acting fuses that allow a physical break in the circuit if a short circuit arises, eliminating the need for a circuit reset. The thin film design allows customers to order customised thin film chip fuses to meet their specific product needs. The SinglFuse line is RoHS compliant and halogen free.
