The LM058 RS232 Bluetooth Adapter from LM Technologies is designed to replace RS232 serial cables by exploiting Bluetooth Class 1 communications with a range up to 100 m (or up to 600 m with the LM057 antenna). The device’s fully featured firmware provides the flexibility to configure it to suit the requirements of specific applications. The added security of Bluetooth+EDR allows safe and secure wireless data transfer.

The adapter allows any device with a standard 9-pin serial port to communicate wirelessly. It can communicate with another Bluetooth serial adapter or other Bluetooth devices such as a laptop computer, PDA or mobile phone. Application areas include medical, industrial, telecoms, security, automation, manufacturing and anywhere else where RS232 communication is used.
