Preci-Dip's latest interstitial layouts come with press-fit contacts in a 321 pole version and with SMT or carrier contacts in a 296 pole version.
The CPFT-compliant press-fit contacts are particularly well adapted to high pin counts as in PGAs. They are suitable either for 0,9 or 0,71 mm PCB holes and feature low insertion force and improved specific contact pressure, as well as reduced stress on the PCB.
SMT contacts, available in a 296 pole PGA socket feature Preci-Dip Durtal's exclusive floating design (axial travel 0,38 mm), allowing each contact to adapt itself to height variations of the PCB surface and to assure correct soldering. Thanks to screw machined dummy contacts in the rigid, disposable carrier socket, contacts are accurately positioned, a necessity for fast pick-and-place systems.
