ISIS focuses on telecommunications

19 November 2003 News

Altech subsidiary, ISIS Information Systems (ISIS), completed a restructuring programme that sees the new-look company focusing on telecommunications. Altech CEO Craig Venter, said that in line with Altech's telecommunications, multimedia and IT (TMT) convergence strategy, management had identified the telecommunications sector as a high-growth area.

He said that he was confident that ISIS' growth would be fuelled by the company's outstanding technical skills and comprehensive business knowledge of the telecommunications service level management layer. ISIS has been involved in the telecoms sector for more than seven years. In line with the restructuring decision, ISIS recently sold its Advanced Systems Division to Grintron, while two other divisions, Consulting and Projects, were purchased by sister company, Keops Altech.

Manager of ISIS, Johan Gellatly, said that since the beginning of the year ISIS had grown its staff count from 60 to more than 100, which clearly indicated the level of business activity being experienced by the company. Looking forward, Gellatly said ISIS was at present in negotiations with smaller network operators that had expressed interest in the company's services and product offerings.

He said ISIS would in future focus on system integration and software development in the telecommunications industry, particularly on enterprise application integration, subscriber provisioning and administration, billing, revenue assurance, fraud management and interconnect billing solutions.
